Items of Interest

The DSS Academy website now has a video describing the transformation of the Facility Security Officer (FSO) Curriculum into a distance learning format. This conversion of the instructor-led FSO Program Management course into a distance delivered format will support the training needs of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) and enable new FSOs to meet mandated training requirements online. The video appears on the DSS homepage.
To view this 10 minute video:  Go to http://dssa.dss.mil/seta/training_videos.html

You will find the video listed as “New Online Curriculum for Facility Security Officers.”

This online curriculum will replace the existing three-day instructor-led FSO Program Management Course. Completion of this curriculum will meet the requirements of NISPOM paragraph 3-102.

FSOs that have completed the instructor led FSO Program Management Course will not be required to take the online courses but they may if they choose to.

To All NCMS Members:

If you have read the most recent CM Bulletin, you saw the short article indicating that NCMS members can now choose whether or not they want to receive the newsletter in hard-copy or just access it electronically through the web site.

The check box is now set up for each NCMS member's profile, and if you want to continue receiving a hard copy of the CM Bulletin, you don't need to do anything.

If you DON'T want a hard copy anymore, then just go into your profile in the members only section of the NCMS web site and UNCHECK the box, which appears just below the citizenship category.

There was a problem initially this morning when the box was set up, so in the event that anyone went in TODAY to make a change, the change may not have been saved and you will need to make sure your choice is recorded. Again, if you want a hard-copy, you do not need to do anything.

Best regards,
Sharon Tannahill
Executive Director, NCMS
